Separable Hamiltonian

In a 2 Particle quantum system, we say that the Hamiltonian is separable if we can split it as $H(x_1,p_1,x_2,p_2)=H_1(x_1,p_1)+H_2(x_2,p_2)$. This separation simplifies the process of finding solutions to the original system.
