We have a tendency to simplify the complexity of continues behaviors and group them into more manageable discrete categories. While this is useful, by allowing me to use concepts as simple as, for example, blue/red/green to describe the immense continuum of colour, it makes us lose some of the subtleties of the real world. In this instances, it is important that we can step back and see the continuum that governs our models, dissolving our well-defined categories into a fuzzier but more realistic world.
